We provide psychiatric care, including evaluations for mental health conditions, medication assessments, and medication management for clients who receive therapy at White Oaks Behavioral Health Services. Our treating psychiatrists are board-certified and have more than 50 years of combined experience in adult, adolescent, and child psychiatry. Our psychiatrists collaborate with your therapist to fulfill your specific needs and to help you achieve mental well-being.
Psychiatric Evaluations
Our psychiatrists offer a clinical interview or assessment that aims to diagnose and treat mental health conditions by exploring the client’s thoughts, feelings, behaviors, symptoms, and history. Physical and cognitive testing may be conducted to substantiate a diagnosis and inform the recommended treatment plan.
Medication Assessment
Using an overview of the client’s symptoms and a collection of their medical history, a psychiatrist will determine whether medication is a viable option for treating a particular mental health disorder and prescribe medication.
Medication Management
Once medication is prescribed, a psychiatrist will plan and outline the steps required to ensure that a client receives their medications safely and effectively. Monitoring the medication encompasses a thorough review of prescribed medications and adjusting as needed to increase outcomes and decrease potential negative side effects. The psychiatrist will collaborate with your therapist on treatment goals.
