Lauren A. Birsic, MS, LPC, NCC

Lauren is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 14 years of experience working with adolescents, young adults, and families who have experienced substance use, physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, and violence in their homes and communities. Lauren is also trained in working with those who have been identified as commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC). Lauren uses a trauma-informed approach to guide treatment with specialization in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy. In addition to offering individual, group, and family therapy, Lauren is well versed in crisis intervention, intervention leadership, and became a facility trainer in the trauma-informed Whole Systems Change Model through the Traumatic Stress Institute in 2020. For over a decade, Lauren has also worked with the Department of Welfare (DPW) and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in achieving corporate compliance, and has offered clinical supervision for over 12 years. Lauren earned her Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University, and Bachelor of Science Degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice from LaRoche College. She is certified in CPR/First-Aid, Trauma Focused CBT, and Trauma Focused PTSD.
